Annoying Problem

    When I start my comp every thing is fine till I get to the login window ,after I login there is hdd activity for 90 secs...comp won't let me do anything till it finishes.
    Only have 6 items starting at start up....resorces are 86%
    320 mb ram
    PIII 500
    1X 30 G hdd
    1X 13G hdd
    Running win ME (I know...I Know.....too lazy to change )

    6 items? is that in your startup folder or whats listed under the startup tab in msconfig?

    The usual culprits are anti-virus or backup software checking or backing up your registry.

    Uncheck everything bar the essentials (i'm running 2000 so can't quickly check what they are for you) and see if that can narrow it down a bit.
