Bare assed newb guide to scanning stuff in

Generally how to scan something in on Sky Digital , I honestly cant see any obvious way of getting anything beyond the default , anyone give me a brief rundown ,or more importantly what to scan in?

If it is new channels, then have a look at:

http://www.lyngsat.com/28east.shtml
and
http://www.lyngsat.com/dig/skyuk.shtml

And go to Services -> Add Channels
and enter the details e.g.:

TV5 is coming up as 4410. There are very few stations of any interest that aren't on the EPG already.
