Creating an icon

    Can someone tell me what i need to do in order to create an icon file from a bitmap ?

    afaik you can just use the bitmap file.

    make a bitmap. make it nice. save it as a .bmp file and when you have the shortcut (or whatever) that you want to change the icon on, just point it to that image in the shortcut properties.

    if that doesnt work you can also make the image and save it as a .ico file from mspaint. should work.

    if all else fails try googling for a tutorial on it.

    Can't say I've ever had to make an icon, but I always come across Microangelo as the icon editor.

    Microangelo is the best icon editor I've seen. I use it all the time and it's second to none imho.

    Microangelo is best app ive seen..
    also visual studio does it if ur a big development freak :-)
