A public debate entitled "Nice or not Nice, inform yourself of the facts" will take place next wednesday at 6:30pm in the new National College of Ireland (NCI) campus in the IFSC. All are welcome to attend, it will be a debate and then a forum for discussion where the audience can ask panel members questions. Panel members will be: Dick Roche, Justin Barrett and an NCI student on either side

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

    Sounds interesting.

I'll probably go. Hopefully people can abstain from calling Justin Barrett a Nazi, about the last thing I want to do is go to a debate where one side accuses the other of being mass murders, demagouges, anti-semetic and such.

A reasoned debate on the merits of the Treaty (or lack thereof in my opinion) would be good, a mud slinging contest would be, a big waste of time.

    Two chances, I'd say...

I've only just discovered Yahoo Pool so my social life is pretty much finished. Apart from playing Pool, I'll be persuading people to vote YES, so I won't have time to attend the debate.
