sky & phone lines & FTA .v. TV licence

    If I buy a 2nd hand digibox in Uk use it in Ireland, use a 2nd FTA BBC card for my UK digibox when in ireland - will it need to be connected to the Irish phone system - if so to what effect (what if I just dont connect it?) and if my UK Tv licence expires will bbc/sky turn off the FTA card?
