    Just got a D-Link 900AP access point.
The antenna is detachable and it leads me to thinking about replacing it with something a little stronger.

Is this a reliable way to increase the signal strength from the access point ? (the house I'm in is a 3 storey house and I would also like to take the laptop out into a sun-room at the back of the house - current signal strength and quality is poor to good)

not sure wht the conection on the Dlink AP's but u can get antena that will give you better preformance. They are specfic 2.4ghz antena. Read irishwan.org i think they have general info. U dont want anything too strong though, u will start to cook things ;)

these guys are in Waterford and sell the gear, im sure u can get stuff local to u though

I have the same dwl_99 ap this is the antenna I got for it, then you'll need low loss cable (LMR-100) and a reverse sma connector for the dwl unit

    Have fun
