SDR and DDR RAM? which? (duh)

right lads. At the moment i have a AMD 1.1ghz, 256 of sdr Ram and a geforce 3 ti500 128mb (ti200 gpu). obviously the ddr is gonna be faster as its double data rate rather than single right? but is there much difference in the performance? like in games? just curious really but any answers would be nice
