Anyone know if dvdsoon.com is alright of late. There were problems a while back as mentioned earlier in this threas but I was just wondering if the problems have been sorted. Failing that does anyone know anywhere reliable that does good prices on criterions? dvdsoon seems my best bet so far if its trustworthy.

Never even knew play had a US site:p Thats very handy. Still the prices for the dvds im lookin for are still a bit north of the dvdsoon price:(

Cd-wow have a criterion section. With the discount link and vouchers it may be of value.

Playusa delivery time is very slow compared to play.com and amazon.com :(

PlayUSA have four currencies to choose from.

US dollars or sterling are best to go for. Choosing the euro option is more expensive.

They ship all items separately (like their UK site) which means there is very little risk of being caught for import duty.

Delivery time tends to be 7 - 10 days which isn't too bad. Some items have arrived in 5 days.

Amazon.com is faster but its shipping prices are high.

Amazon Marketplace is good but the default shipping per item ($5.49 for CDs) even if you purchase items from the same retailer at the same time is annoying.

Lots of horror stories on UK forums about DVD Soon.

Was going to order off DVDSoon again (I too was stung by the crap last year). They are under new mgt so will give them a try with a "small order".

Carnival Of Souls 27 dollars from dvdpacific
    http://www.dvdpacific.com/item.asp?ID=1737

Although if you go with standard postage prepare to wait about 3-4 weeks.

Hi guys, I don't wanna double post but I think that it is worth linking to my issues with DVDSoon in the Consumer Issues forum. So beware, and don't use them anymore!

Also , Play.com arent so good anymore , as I said in the consumer issues
forum they wont allow one to order in Sterling with a non UK address.

So its extra money (in essence a delivery charge) for DVDs outside the UK
as you must pay in Euro and its always about €2 extra then the STG converted.

I have now stopped ordering from play.com and switched to sendit.com . Play are going to be really hurt by this move which is similar to shooting yourself in the foot.

    I second the motion.

I think cdwow are pretty reasonable for DVDs so I'll give them a shot also.

The new policy of Play.com is most unwelcome.

Sendit are good with helpful customer service. However they do not do books or CDs like Play did.

Amazon.co.uk are getting a lot more business from me lately. Everything is shipped via An Post so stuff arrives within two days and they try and box everything together. I don't mind paying for postage given the speed of delivery.
While I can understand why Play send everything separately I prefer to get one big box as opposed to ten packages - given that everything goes to my work address.

I just bought "The Sopranos Season 1 2 3 4 5 6" on www.ebay.cn in china for 20 Euro. postage and pack cost me 24 Euro. Still a hell of a lot cheaper than irish prices. All dvds are Original and work on Multiregion R1 and R2.
The seller was a Powerseller with 99% feedback. Only accepted bank transfer.
And it only took 6 working days to deliver.
24 Dvds altogether in this boxset.

Hate to burst your bubble but Original DVDs are never made as multiregion.

They are most likely good fakes - good price though

I have these and they are very good fakes. One of the discs in Series 5 is duplicated so you get two copies of three episodes and you miss another 3 episodes.
Loads of spelling errors on the packaging also.

Like you I thought they were geniune. I got them from a UK seller who stated they were in the UK and delivery would take 10 days. I got the package from China 5 weeks later:mad:

I never buys DVD's off ebay now. However, the DVD's are still good quality and you'll be happy with your purchase. Hopefully, you've a better fake version that I got
