Talking to my IT manager today about telecommuting and it was obvious that business aren't as worried about the cost of Telecoms as they get the VAT back.

I've been looking at the wireless setups that people have been talking about here and I'm thinking that if wireless LANs are setup then co-ops would seem to be the ideal structure for them as you probably wouldn't have to pay VAT on the service a Co-op provides and there is less regulation of Co-ops.
With any service provided by a third party VAT at 21% would be payable.

Is this the case. Am I looking at this correctly?
Is this the motive for the Ireland wireless groups or are they just trying to create wireless lans because they know that no-one else roll out broadband connections for them.

It seems the Co-Operative movement will be alive and well again very shortly.

I have been to a couple of the Dublin meetings. The idea is a good one. It might not suit all initially but it is worth considering.
