Just at a demo of the MS Smartphone 2002 and was well impressed...

There were two devices that were shown, one from Sendo and the other unannounced as yet. Both candybar form factor, excellent screen (64k colour and approx half the size of a PocketPC). Standard apps included Windows Media Player, Pocket Outlook and Internet Explorer. I'll get some pics up when I get back to a desktop.

It was timed after the announcement today of the Orange SPV Smartphone (Sound Pictures Video) a device built by HTC (who also built the iPAQ and XDA) and marketed / distributed by orange the same way as the XDA was exclusively by O2.

Already there are several titles available for download to the device from Handango: http://www.handango.com/orange-cobrand/

Full details on the Orange SPV incl. tech specs:

Now to begin the task of getting one SIM free... that doesn't cost the earth...

I wonder how long that will take to come out here. Prolly won't come out at all seen as it is exclusive to Orange.

the Orange SPV handset arrived today for a demo and - WOW - only slightly taller than a T68i, but it was thicker

the screen, the memory expandability, the audio and video, the games - out of the three MS Smartphone devices the SPV really stood out

we compared to a Nokia 7650 and it won the debate for me - on the os familiarity, the screen quality, expandability - it was missing Bluetooth though but there was a Socket (Toshiba licensed) SDIO Bluetooth card announced yesterday that would work in MS Smartphones that have "externally accessible SDIO slots and incorporate BSQUARE’s SDIO".
