I've read a number of reviews on this phone but nowhere could I find an answer to my question, so....

Does the email client on these phones support HTML based email?

Also, I'm aware that a number of POP/IMAP accounts are supported but only 1 active account at any time. Call me pessimistic/suspicous but will Vodafone disable support of other POP accounts besides their own e-merge/vodafone addresses?

well on the first bit, i'm not sure tbh....i've had no trouble reading any emails but i don't think i've had any html ones to fone anyway(keeep em small)

1 active account??? i don't follow you there i'm afraid, i've 3 different pop3/IMAP accounts setup on the phone and i can seemlessly(effectively) go between them all to read emails and send/recieve and what ever ye like... there is a primary account as such but that is only just a setting for the 'default' mailbox to use when sending an email from the menu...no different to most pc software

Ah, thanks for clarifying that - the stupid review I read made it sound like only one account could be active at any one time.

Would it be too much to ask you to send an HTML formatted email to yourself to test out that support (or lack thereof) ?

    hi

nope the native email client can't handle either receiving HTML formatted email via POP or IMAP or connecting to a HTML email server (e.g. Hotmail)

you can get a Email Viewer that can handle receiveing HTML formatted email to a POP or IMAP account from ReqWireless:

    ReqWireless Email Viewer:
From PC and install via IR, BLuetooth, PC Suite or e-mail attachement
    http://www.reqwireless.com/emailviewer.html
From 7650 handset via the WAP Browser
    http://reqwireless.com/wap

If you want to check your Hotmail or Yahoo* you can use the WAP Browser (Services menu) to login to:
    http://mobile.msn.com
    http://home.mobile.yahoo.com

*note you can switch on POP mail access to your Yahoo mail by selecting Mail Options / POP Access and Forwarding settings when logged into Yahoo Mail on your PC

    HTH,
    Brian G
