    Uhh..Hi.

Anyone know what the hell causes Windows XP to delete the Temporary Internet Files on seemingly random occasions..or better yet how to turn it off?

I had tonnes of Offline stuff saved that I had to go through, now its all gone kaput.

Has happened before..seems more likely to happen after I've done a hard reboot..like after a crash or something.

Yeah try going to the Internet Options in the Tools menu. Then click on settings. Maximise the amount of disk space to use on internet cache. And I guess if you want to save anything then it's best to get it out of there. Cos it'll clean up whenever there's not enough room, that or the number of days data has been in there. (According to the history setting)

I've allways had more than enough space..and I've never had it exceed the 1gig limit I've set. Also, I don't think it wipes the cache completely, when it runs out of space...nope, this is a diffrenet problem entirely.

    Any ideas, anyone?

Clearing your History will not affect whats in the Temporary Internet Folder, Clearing your history deletes all the web address that you typed in from the Internet browser and not the actual files stored in the Temporary Internet Folder.
