Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

MDL export???

    How do i export MDL models into an editbale source???


    I was sent some farm animlas soneone wants inserted into Mohaa.

    Tho i dont have a clue about MDLs and anything related to them.

    Anyone know these things can be un MDled so to speak???

    I assume you mean decompiling them. If so, I'm not the one to ask :)

    Milkshape3D has import/export'ers for most model types used in games... I think MOHAA uses the Quake3 engine doesn't it?
    *ponders what format the animal models are in*
    You can decompile a few types of mdl in milkshape... preserving the animations and skeleton while converting cross-format though... hmmm could be tricky... never tried converting models like that tbh.

    Yeah milkshape can probably do it. Did the mohaa developers release there own plugin?

    no plugin so we made one ....LOL

    Milkshape has some options for MDL but none to actually render it into a state that can be exported.

    No plugin ever released so we made one :)

    Im testing the Mohaa exporter now it works not 100% but EA aint giving us one so we had to make it.

    The animals are MDL and created ages ago.

    Just need models to insert in all recognisable mohaa formats i made a sten and tank need more to make sure each model in game is covered.

    Yeah, it's pretty limited, but you could try exporting a single frame of the mdl to .3ds format and re-skeleton it in Max... only snag being you have to re-animate it aswell.

    Search for the reference model it should be in a daVinci pose so its easy to re animate (if you find animating easy :))
