I wouldn't put it past peats :rolleyes:, i went in one day with a list of really simple components for my junior cert project, clearly written on paper. Handed it to the bloke at the counter, 10 minutes later he comes back with 5/6 wrong parts. Had to explain it to him simply. Also plenty of my classmates at the time had similar experiences, asking for a simple gearbox, being sold 20 quid ones ect.

They're staff aren't great tbh, even our engineering teacher said that

(mind you, this was 4 odd year ago)

Sounds like 98 was a rough year for peats, glad I wasnt there.

Seriously though mugger, If that did happen, you really shoulda done something about it.. Although I suppose you did hold a grudge for 4 yrs, Not bad mine usually only last a couple of hours
