    Napster doesn't work any more. You could download it from various places but you'd find nothing to connect to. The company's gone broke and they don't own anything any more. No-one else will be using Napster either.

    There's a new thingie called Woodstock, which when installed by you and a few mates allows you to share and exchange MP3's with each other. I can't use it as I don't have admin rights on my work PC.

    You can set up a buddy list and share mp3’s between each other. Its a player as well.

    There was a good deal of talk about that possibility (and it may yet happen). The current prospective buyer is a company called Napco Acquisition ("an affiliate of an undisclosed public company that has asked to remain unidentified until an asset purchase agreement is signed") - see here
