Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

that's a good idea- do it like the french presidential elections- take the top few and then get everyone to vote on those ones to get the final final result! eh? eh?

    What, you mean nicetreaty.boards.ie

    heh

I think that, in honour of the growth that IrelandOffline has brought to Boards.ie, the new machine should be called:

    eircomcanbitemyshinymetalass.boards.ie

Just call it bender. We'll know what it means. :)

We had the same problem in DNC so we picked a theme based on a 1962 Mexican horror movie (sure what else could we do :)). The movie is called El Barón del terror so our three servers are named after characters in it. So we have brainiac.doesnotcompute.net, pantoya.doesnotcompute.net, vitelius.doesnotcompute.net.

Might be interesting to come up with a theme for naming these boards servers. So any furture servers would be named in this theme too.

I dunno maybe Irish mythological figures or a movie???

Wouldn't bother me, only have to type it into the config file once ...

Anyway, it's shorter than devoreisgay9.boards.ie, a fine suggestion which I think didn't get a fair hearing.

True, I still like my names to be short.

Anyway, experience shows that its awkward naming servers by a ballot. I witnessed one of the most pointless ballots in history which had to be re-taken because the suggestion that won was a joke suggestion that was shouted out by someone during the voting procedure.

Never again will a box be named by ballot.
