But if we have to pick a new mod it better not be any strict control-freak type person who deletes posts because they think somebody's argument is badly written or the poster's point of view disagrees with their own (like a certain ctyizens mod who isn't mentioned in this poll but whose name starts with a .

I voted for hug, on the frounds that I don't know Bob or Neill that well and I haven't seen Sven in a while + Hug spends so much time online, he probably has little better to do than to Moderate this place.

By the way, is there any chance that someone would get rid of a few of the older topics. I mean they're just taking up space (sorry, I am a compulsive tidier, it coulb Obsessive Compulsive Disorder)

If no-one else wants the job, I wouldn't mind doing it. It would fill in the gaping emotional void in my life. I've tried to fill it with material goods and pornography. Maybe a deep meaningful relationship with a Cathode Ray tube is the answer I've been looking for.

Starting a thread to volunteer yourself is even more naff. I'd reckon if Fionna needs help, being the responsible, upstanding member that she is and all, I'd reckon she'd ask for it.

Still if you have a problem with the way l'party in question runs the show, perhaps you should take it up with Dev or Cloud. Who knows enough berating from afar might just get you modded, but I doubt it.

But the point raised about her being at college etc. is a very good one, and that is why I put up this poll in the first place, to have someone to tidy up when she is too busy to do so. Hugh only did this cause people asked him to. Hence why he included himself was cause people suggested him. Give the guy a break, he took some initiative to stop people bitching about who should do it.

That said, I still think that Fio should be let decide whether she wants to step down WITH NO OUTSIDE PRESSURE! she's busy, so give her a break. No point doing that typey, CTYI is a community and as such is more self governing than regular boards. Apart from obvious misdemeanours, they try not to interfere. The community at large has no say in the board, just the community involved in the board.

Having said that, i agree with Typedef to a certain degree. Has fio indicated that she wants to stand down? Is she Absentee? Have you just decided to take it upon yourself? Judging from the replies, there doesnt seem to be a pressing need for a new mod.

Best examples would be: Best Movies Ever, and Bitter Oldies... although Bazookatones latest stuff is nothing if not bs <although, that said his badly titled mid-life crisis thread isn't too bad at all>.

See here is my difficulty with people calling for blood on this one. In theory lots of what is discussed on this board is nothing to do with CTYI in the least and the community here seems to actually want it that way.

Now suddenly arbitrary people have decided (quite convieniently for their own stalinist ambitions[1]) that such extraneous discussion is in fact outside the remit of the board. Err, excuse me, technically anything not directly connected to discussion of CTYI is outside the remit of the board's discussion. Furthermore, if one takes it as a given that lots of extraneous discussion to CTYI actually takes place here and that that discussion is in fact the charter for this board, the only real issue becomes, what is kosher in those discussions?

To my mind here is what is ok. Anything that is non-pornographic, non-abusive and doesn't pimp commercial sites/products/you name it. Else one starts to encroach on an unspoken rule that lax and ostensibily unmoderated conversation betwixt, people scattered across the world who were in CTYI is kosher. If you see where I'm going with this.

Therefore a thread on what Movies you like is broadly in line with what the board is about (ie retaining contact between CTYI people), so long as it is mostly CTYI peole are talking about it and it conforms to the broad lines of being Kosher as I have pointed out as being requisite for a public forum above.

Feel free to cast aspersions to this proposition at your leisure.

I appoligise that in the.... 3 days? since this thread has been created that I havent been around.

Unfortunately for the last week I've been rather ill, vommitting, not sleeping, non-stop migraines, etc.

Before this? Yes, i've been trying to settle in at college, and yes, i've let you lot *try* and act like you have some sort of control over yourself, obviously I was very much mistaken in the idea that when you got sick of insulting one and other that you would stop.

You want moderation? Well In the absence of the cruel evil moderator role (Asuka).... well lets just say i'm going to fill in.

More on this later when I can find (except the one bitter thread) that actually *needs* moderation.
