Law and Order has had had 2 spin off shows Law and Order SVU and Law and Order CI (Criminal Intent). So it isn't underrated.

Relic Hunter is fairly good. I watch it most days. It pretty much the smae format every show though. Someone comes to them wanting to find a relic, they go, they get it. As soon as they get it "baddies" attack them, that the relic. They go and get the "baddies" take back relic. End shot always shows them back at the office. Its still an alright show though, Tia Carrere is Fine!!

Also My Wife & Kids, That 70's Show and Grounded for life or really good too imh. Pretty funny all of them.

Has any one seen that Werewolf teen show on Net2, usually on the DEN.
Its VERY funnny escpecially the gothic guy.
Its wasted on kids who watched DEN

I wonder was the idea for relic hunter stolen from a game?

    (Also its really bad)

If anyone remembers it, Brimstone was an excellent series. It was cancelled, afaik, after the first series. Network 2 showed it late at night from what I remember.

Does anyone remember this kids show from years ago. It was Irish made with spongey puppets, there were three kids living with their aunt Vera in a B&B. I always remember one of the guys, i think his name was Rory (same voice for one of the godawful Morbegs methinks) and he loved this band called 'The Fat Catastrophes'. Anyway, it got pretty dark sometimes, there was a picture hanging on the wall that i think they got sucked into a scary dimension through and the youngest kid came back with an evil toy called Otto that came alive and got nasty...great shtuff.

have to agree with American Gothic too, great show.

I do remember it they don't make them how they used now that was good stuff indeed got quite scary too.:)

Does anybody watch My Wife and Kids on Trouble. Its very funny stuff. The dad is hilarious, especially when he is making fun of the idiot son.Its odd that this great show is buried away in the realms of digital tv land and hasnt been bought by any of the terrestrials.

Also, does anybody else find it strange that nobody watched Family Guy in its amzingly brilliant first series but everybody sees the sightly weaker later seasons?Family Guy is by no means crap but it is a shadow of its former self.
I also like both the Law and Order tv shows, though think SVU is slightly better.

ya it was very weird... I didn't watch it regularly so I couldn't follow what was going on a lot of the time... when they went into that netherworld it was freaky

Millenium - beats the pants off X-Files. Should have gone beyond 3 series. The Frank Black character was excellent.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,211 ✭✭✭✭Sangre

How about 'According to JIm' a US sitcom it used to be on network 2 at around noon. I only saw it during the summer but thought it was a great show and started watching regularly until I returned to school

Anyone else see this show, its prob. pretty big in AMerica if it came over here

    Teachers
    All saints!

And the Number one show on TV at the moment

    On home Ground!

    I have to say
Law and Order: SVU......its gone from its usual 10pm Monday nite slot an TV3.
The Drew Carey Show - its hardly ever on.
    Diagnosis Murder,
Muder she wrote (a bit lame but the classic college program - us students would watch anything!)
    Boston Public,

    The list goes on.

I'd agree with law & order, the people I know who watch it love it and everyone else has never heard of it ?

The West Wing, especially its treatment on RTE. I didn't even know that the new series was starting last night when I happened upon it and wondered what else both Richard Schiff and Bradley Whitford had been in. Undoubtedly the greatest TV show ever created, and RTE have been scheduling it later and later for the past two series so that now it's on at 10:40 on a Thursday night.

Similarly Bear in the Big Blue House.

The Drew Carey Show - its hardly ever on.

Back on Sunday's on N2. why does RTE show programmes so late?

How about 'According to JIm' a US sitcom it used to be on network 2 at around noon. I only saw it during the summer but thought it was a great show and started watching regularly until I returned to school

It only got one season in the states.

    Homicide: Life On the Street.
The best show ever made and the most underrated.

    JUDGE JUDY

futurama, couldn't stand it at first but i've grown to love it...
unfortunatly it never seems to be on tv at a reasonable hour (woke up the other day at 8:20 & caught the last 10 minutes of it:confused: )

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 943 ✭✭✭Mewzel

id say either seinfeld or the drew carey show, both of which always seem to be aired at simply ungodly hours. its not fair goddamit!

    Brisco County Jrn.

Ok - that teen wolf program was called Big Wolf on Campus - twasn't bad at all. Kinda funny - reminded me of Eerie Indiana (the old one not the newer version).

Someone said that they didn't know the West Wing new series was starting and blamed RTE - well to be honest now I was getting sick of seeing ads for the new series of the West Wing so maybe it was because you hadn't watched ads on RTE for ages that you didn't know because they were plugging it non-stop.

Have to agree that Larry Sanders was ****ing brilliant. Does anyone remember The News Room which used to be on late night Wednesdays a few years back? A great comedy with no laugh track (which I think is always a good sign)

Freaks and Geeks is also great - I think RTE now repeat it at 2.30 in the morning some night mid-week. My brother worked briefly on it and was quite chuffed that he got to meet Biff from Back to the Future (Go Biff!)

And Jack of All Trades was a good laugh too - couldn't believe what a piss-take it was the first time I saw it.

Someone said that RTE treated the Sopranos really badly I think. Ehhh- no they didn't 10.30 on a Tuesday night is a good time I think. Also Scrubs is fairly popular as far as I can tell - why does everyone think it's underrated?

farscape (bbc2 mondays). esp the 3rd season. Usen't interest me, but as I started following the various plots, i became hooked on it. Is now my favourite show.

Can i point out that most of the shows that people are mentioing are very highly accliamed and many have won EMMYS.

I think if better effects were added to stargate sg-1..it would be interesting:cool:

Highly acclaimed in The US but not here in case of Seinfeld and Drew Carey.

Homicide: Life on the Street, for my money the best police drama ever made. Hallmark are running it weeknights if you have Digital.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,823 ✭✭✭Horsefumbler

ITV had this show on late at nite called Harry Hill's TV Burp and basically he just rips the piss out of the popular tv shows and soaps in really funny ways. I think its stopped now but hopefully it will return coz it had me chuckling mindlessly.

    The Re-runs of Miami Vice!!
What a show, what a show.

Anyone catch Fastlane. Its Miami Vice for the 21st centuary. Its on TG4 on thursdays and Sky1 on fridays.

Brisco County Jr is proborably my favourite show of all time. Simply brillant.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,641 ✭✭✭✭Elmo

Now And Again Currently being repeated on ITV on thursdays at around midnight exclent show pity it didnt make it passed its first series. It stars the president from 24.

Darko, see Miami Vice thread in All Things Retro!

Big Wolf on Campus, v. Funny and some great eye candy for the girls!

The Drew Carey Show - I used to stay up very late (I was young at the time) on a Saturday night to watch it - Cleveland Rocks!

What about Ned and Stacy?? Your one from Will and Grace used to be in it and it was strikingly similar to the Will and Grace story line (except for the gay bit)

Spin City it great, the older series are better.

Does anyone remeber a kids TV show and ITV called maybe Labyrinth or the Chamber or summat?
It featured a team of kids partaking in a sort of virtual reality game. There was a really scary games master person. It used to be on a Friday at around 4 perhaps??
    Great show!

Diagnosis Murder and Murder She Wrote are very underrated!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,823 ✭✭✭Horsefumbler

Yeah I remember that show. I used to always try and watch it but i never saw a full show, only the last couple of minutes everytime. It was deadly at the time though

    DEEP SPACE NINE
I loved deep space nine, best star trek ever.

The Maxx, MTV used to show some animated shows on Sundays, of which the Maxx was the best. Think the others were The Head, and Aeon Flux(total pooh)

Brisco County Jnr was brilliant, as was American Gothic and G Vs E

There used to be a show on RTE, about 4 / 5 years ago, the story was that this cop was killed, he was sent to hell, but was given a second chance to return to earth and capture a number of demons who had escaped from hell. It was on pretty late at night. Totally brilliant

And Late Night Poker on Channel 4 has got to be one of the best TV programs in the world ever.

I thought of another brilliant show that was only around for a while. It was on channel 4 and it was called Brasseye. They talked about contraversial issues like animal cruelty and paedophiles and they did it in extremely satiracal ways.Very funny stuff. One show was banned i think

Ahh Brass EyE i was waiting for some one to bring that up.Ive recently seen them all again on DVD including the chistmass peadeophoile special (It caused unreal trouble for C4 big fines given out to by the commen's mp's goin nut's amd all the stars they tricked sued C4 for misleading them)_ VERY disturbing stuff. It wasn't funny ha ha more scary funny its sarcasm was a little over the top real dry english humour. All though the science on trial episode was quite funny.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,194 ✭✭✭mada999

on what other show would u have peter stringfellow's face coming towards you for a bit a minute???

Fúcked up, but a great show overall!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 760 ✭✭✭TheAlmightyArse

There's also The Day Today, basically BrassEye only a skit on the news. Alan Patridge is on it as the sports blokey, too, but he really pales compared to Chris Morris (bloke behind both Day Today and BrassEye).

And then there's People Like Us - only seen one episode unfortunately, but twas abso-friggin'-lutely hilarious! Anyone know if/where I can pick it up on DVD?

Oh, and Freaks and Geek is on tonight at 3. Yes, 3 in the morning, but still! Huzzah!
