    I don't know where this should go, i have thought movies? art/anim? college play? So i stuck it here :)

    I can't believe Sci-Fi are letting anyone muscle in on their turf.

    I can see it now, gang wars for a slice of the TCD film racket. Security guards being paid off, Goldsmith hall being torched.....

    rationally, of course, that's true, but would you believe that there was only one cinema in all of new york city showing "Swept Away" subbed? And even that was only ever other showing?

    I've been to screenings that ended up being "whatever we could get our hands on." Had to check. Taisetsu da ne....

    do we have to be members of this? those beee-atches in ucd tried to make us join the society to watch the cartoons, i was having none of it. they were showing some groovy stuff but i felt all left out coz i didn't know what i was talking about, am i going to get looked down on again for not being a sci fi nerd?!?

    Well, yeah, you'll have to "join the society" which basically means you have to pay just €1 for the event if you're not a member, so I dont think anyone will have a problem with that.

    ìt's very casual really, I usually go naked and lord of terror there dresses up as a woman for these nights, but *shrug* it really depends on how we feel on friday morning.

    if you're in dublin, and interested even slightly in anime we would be glad to have you along :)

    check out eirtaku.mangatoanime.com it's a forum for irish anime fans, run by cloud also :) it's where myself, lot and the rest organise this kind of stuff

    i really liked the films they showed down in ucd, blood the last vampire and akira and stuff, but hell i dont know what the difference between manga and anime is(is there a difference? i dont even know!)... and i usually get laughed at for that

    manga is the comic form.. and anime is the cartoons, you watch anime, you read manga :)

    Heh, yeah, there's a difference:
    "Manga" is basically a Japanese comic book, while "anime" just means it's animated, as in it's shown on TV or whatever.
    Don't worry, a lot of people can't tell the difference either :(

    Great to see this much interest. As mentioned above it will be €1 if you are not a member. The cinema costs about €7, so you are saving €6.50 per film! If you come for the evening it's as if we are putting €13 into your pocket*
