I really, really enjoyed Dagon (just as much as I enjoyed Re-Animator). Sure, it takes itself a lot more seriously than Re-Animator, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. There is a massively creepy atmosphere over the entire film, and it is pretty faithful to the feeling of the original story.

I think you're clutching at straws by saying the guy wanted to be Jeffrey Combs. Naturally, there are going to be similarities between the two (Stuart Gordon is not a fantastically multi-faceted director, but what he does, he does well), but I certainly don't think he was trying to be him.

Oh come on, the whole characterization just screamed of immitation! It's like they tried to get Combs again, but assuming they didn't, they just planted a crappy copy.

The actor was my main critisism with the film, but perhaps I am being too harsh, as it's fairly fresh in my memory. Perhaps I might see it again at some stage, and not hate it so much? But Lovecraft films always had great, sinister actors in them; Jeffery Combs, Bruce Payne, John Rhys-Davies, David Warner... All fantastic, charismatic actors. But Dagon really had nothing to offer than a camp young fellow with a lack of personality.

I'm try to find a copy of Nyarlathotep though, as I hear that's very good.

It was John Carpenter's Vampires, and it had James Woods as the main Character. Bon Jovi is in the sequal, which I haven't seen, but the first film was very good indeed.

And Polarbelly, that film you're on about is 'Just Visiting'.

I'll admit I watched it all the way through - just because I'm an optimist and kept telling myself it had to get better. It didn't though

Definitely with you on that one. I'll hold him down - you can hit him. It's even worse because they actually made an effort only to yield a true piece of crud.

Super Troopers was terrible (happily I didn't pay to see it - happened across a divx of it on the UL skynet server)

Dishonourable mentions: Ghosts of Mars, Dude Where's My Car, Police Academy: Mission to Moscow, Fair Game, Spawn and like Wossack said, any film with Chuck Norris in it. And Leonard Part 6 (how could have I forgotten that one). Terrible. The 1930 version of Juno and the Paycock also gets a mention as Hitchcock directed it and it's cack.

(edit)Left out "The Haunting" - sets new standards for terrible movies, regardless of Catherine Zeta Jones supposedly being a lesbian in it.

I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say I enjoyed Toys.
Not initially, mind you. I actually went to see this film in the cinema, and came out literally gagging. I thought it was one of the worst films I'd ever seen. Then, Sky Movies started showing it pretty much weekly, so one Sunday, I was incredibly hung over and couldn't be bothered changing the channel.

Now, maybe it was the booiz talking, but I really liked the film then. It wasn't nearly as shallow and superficial as I had first thought - there was a genuine, important message in the film, and they'd managed to wrap it in a really sweet (occasionally excessively so) package.

Basically, I see it as a film that does its best to genuinely appeal to both kids and adults. Not in the cheesy kind of "for kids of all ages" way (which tends to drive me insane), but by genuinely giving a deeper meaning to the film than just the pretty images up on screen.

But maybe it's still just the booiz talking.

Mothman Prophecies another, class film, based on true events, freaky as ****, and again even if u didnt like it i doubht you seriously think its the absolute worst film you've ever seen??

In my opinion the ultimate worst movie ever,has got to be Texas Chainsaw Massacre:The next generation,it makes no sense!I saw it like a year ago and i heard that it was on again last week i think.Now,admitedly,and somewhat ashamedly i have not seen the original,so maybe that explains why i did not get some of it,but some of the craziest,and crappiest parts involved a transvestite chainsaw wielding maniac,a guy with a hydraulic leg,(with no explanation why),a strange guy in a limo with tatoos and piercings all over his body that comes in and leaves with litle explanation and also these weird grey people who you think are corpses,but then they start bloody walking around!And the craziest thing is the ending.The harassed girl runs outside,and suddenly its daytime,and suddenly instead of being in a forest shes in the open and theres a camper van travelling down the road,despite the fact this place is supposed to be deserted,she gets in the van and tries to escape,bad guys knock it over,he gets out runs away,being chased by guy with hydraulic leg,low flying plane comes by and for some reason only cuts the hydraulic lead on his leg,not his leg or his arm,just the half-inch wire.Then he limo with the weird guy pulls up,she gets in,and then for no reason he helps her.then she is in the hospital talking to an cop,and as she is sitting there she see's herself go by on a trolley bed being pushed by doctors.only one word could describe it............WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
