    Just a quick one.....

Passing through Drogheda there the other day, as seeing the new Boyne Cable Bridge got me thinking when actually will the bridge be opened and, subsequently, the M1 from Monasterboice to Julianstown?

Hopefully it'll come soon. Any time I'm in Drogheda theres always a desperate standstill, and the traffic lights in that town ain't much better. I'd say they're probably green for at the most 20 seconds each time. Having said that Julianstown isn't much better for the traffic either.

The M1 in Dundalk doesn't seem to be opening any time soon either. It's probably been untouched for over a year now, maybe even two years.

    what do you mean?

The m1 is open between the drogheda and dundalk. Well between the drogheda bypass roadworks and the roundabout beside xerox.

Yeah I meant the bypass around Dundalk, work on it doesn't seem to be moving at all. The sooner its done the better cos Dundalk is starting to be one big traffic problem and the sooner its sorted out the better.

Seemingly early 2005 as from this websitehttp://www.louthcoco.ie/downloads/latest_progress_report.doc

the extension to the Dundalk end of the M1 is years away at best. The last I heard they where looking for private investment to finish it off. The proposed route will only take it as far as the ballymac roundabout in any case, which isn't much benifit at all
