Need help choosing modem

    Has anyone had experience of any of these modems at ITDirect or these at peats.ie (I don't appear to be able to find a serial modem at any of the usual haunts e.g. komplett.ie, and don't want to be forced to buy anything from peats if it can be helped)?

    I'm looking for a serial modem only (current old winmodem + WinXP = increased stress levels).

    And why would someone spend €155.01 for a 33.6k modem (see the ITDirect above link)?

    Maplin had a good selection of decent 56k external modems last time I checked.. (I bought one)
    Good value i felt @ €59!
