    Does consistency across i.e all machines running same os,client version etc improve performance and speed of the network?? Cheers

    Using Novell clients and ODI drivers does.

    Microsoft's Novell client is a crapper and their IPX implementation aint too hot either.

    we are running all types of os and although im not personally responsible for the server side i do try to get a bit of consistency especially in the client version which are all over the place.Thanks.

    Consistency in the client operating systems is a bonus for ease of administration.

    The performance of any given system (network wise) in your scenario will be determined by hardware, namely the processor speeds, NIC's, hubs and switches.

    Different OSes have network stacks of different efficiencies but this will vary speeds less noticeably than the hardware mentioned above.

    If you're talking about running different versions of Novell client across your network, then you should be ok..
