Is there any way in EXCEL to change the titles of the columns from the default 'A' , 'B' , 'C' etc to more meaningful titles?

    not that im aware of..
cause u can name cells whatever u want

    would that do for u?
    just highlight a cell
and in the toolbar where it says
    A2(A2 been the selected cell)
delete that text and name it something more meaningful

    It's a spreadsheet not a database :)

I think it is bad policy to rename columns (you can do it in Corel Quattro Pro). It is much better to use row 1 for a title and if it is a large spreadsheet, then use Window > Freeze Pane (this can be used in both directions).

However, there appears to be a "Names in workbook" function in Excel, where you say "Price" = cell "A21" or something similar.
