    There was a UKCCL clan meeting on IRC last night, with around 60+ clans showing up, its fair to say interest in Quake 2 is still high. First up for discussion was the maps for season 7, which will be voted for by the clans from the ID dm maps (excluding dm7), 1 of the original singleplayer maps shipped and 4 custom maps. This should make for some interesting choices.

    Next it was put forward that all new clans entering the league were placed in the bottom Divisions together, with any experienced clans down there kept away from them. The main aim here was to avoid the ritual slaughter of most newbie clans. Pity that, I was always partial to a bit of ritual slaughter.

    A new rule about default losses has also been introduced, whereby clans will actually have points deducted for not showing. This would stop the sort of carry on that happened last season when CS defaulted to FED in the final game of the season as they knew it would give them promotion by +15 of a frag difference. Very unsporting and unfair.

    On the promotion/relegation issues, and due to the fact that 3 clans have dropped out of Div1, CS, EVIL & ABFAB are promoted to Div1. The remaining clans left in Div2 will playoff for a final promotion place. Down in the various Div5's, the top 3 clans in each of those get promoted. Its still unclear how all this will effect the clans in Div3a & Div3b, as there are quite a few places in Div2 for clans to get promoted to.

    And the final point was on the expansion plans the UKCCL have. It will soon have its own UT DM/CTF/DOM leagues, plus Q3 and possibly kingpin leagues. Its all go go go for the UKCCL, which is still the best organised and most fun league around.
