Ha. I saw it for the first time last night. If you like the 80's, and little Matthew Broderick, I recommend watching it. Although, watch out for Jennifer Grey, she looks particularly bad in this one.

its a classic! When the teacher (extremely boring voice) calls out "Buelleeerrrrr?Buelleeerrrr?" about 10 times before someone tells him that hes not in.
    Much laughs :)

One of my all time favorite films that :)

Whats more is that , unlike some other films in its genre (Notably The Breakfast Club) it stands up to the test of time. Even now its still a good film.

Scarily, (and certainly without intending to) I can quote that ENTIRE film by heart. I think Back to the Future, Die Hard, Pulp Fiction and the first 3 Star Wars movies are about the only others to have inspired me to such lengths.

Man I love FBDO so much! Unlike old-man Dusty (;)) there I wasn't old enough to see it in the cinema when it came out but I did finally see it on video around 1990 and have made it a point to watch it at least twice a year ever since :)

Spin City - he's been a regular throughout the series.

Watched this film recently with younger teenagers who had never seen the movie before and we all thought it was still a cool film.

:D Classic, if only for Cameron's geeky ways.

Then theres the phone conversation and the Ferrari episode.

heh heh, very good. that kind of anally-retentive attention to detail belongs on eegs.com. you, sir, are a true pro!

    [Boring teacher]
    "Innnnnnn..... what.......... waaaaaaaayy........"
    [/Boring teacher]
    Fantastic.

Though I have to say the bit with Ferris singing in the parade makes me want to headbutt the telly.

His girly friend was awful cute too I wonder what she's up to.?

    /IMDB search. Obscurity apparently.

"Cameron" has also been in Speed and i think he played the Captain of the Enterprise in Star Trek Generations

It was one cool film. I also liked "Pretty in Pink". They really do not make films like this any more.

Indeed he was (thay've finished making it, haven't they?)

Great screengrab Pignam - I'll echo comments about your anally-retentive qualities:D

Classic movie - presence of Mia Sara is just a bonus. Paramount show it every once in a while

(OT: Charlie Sheen was in FBDO as well as I recall (playing the druggy chap in the cop shop))

my favourite bit is the telephone conversation wit the dean.

    "Call me sir goddamn it!!!"

    Excellent :D

And of course the ferrari bit wit the "oh yeah" song.

love tat film, bought on dvd there last month, must thave watched it about 10 times, and brought culture to my pig ignorent frineds who had never seen it b4 :)

Is the Ferris Bueller DVD any good?

    Depends.
The R2 version is a pretty crappy, bare-bones DVD. The R1 version, however, has a commentary by John Hughes, which is pretty entertaining, and probably worth the extra hassle of getting it shipped over.

Of course, there's also a new R2 version out, bundled with Planes, Trains and Automobiles, which is also fantastic.

Also: if you watch carefully, you'll spot Alan Ruck (Cameron Frye) in the original 'Speed' as the guy who freaks out, and gets a guy shot.

yeah dvd, as dvd's go, is pretty ****e.

staic menus wit a big coloured squares thing goin on, just subtitles, thats about it, oh and of course the film :)

its one of these dvd'd that tries to pawn "scene selection" as a special feature.

id say a pecial edition will eventually b released though.

That's odd. I got the Region 2 DVD some time last year and it has the John Hughes commentary on it, which is well worth a listen I might add. Mind you there are no extras to speak of which is a shame.

This is one of my favourite movies by far. It hasn't aged at all, an all time classic. There's so many funny moments in it, it's hard to know where to begin. I particularly like the conversation they have with the car parking attendant.

Ferris: Do you speak English ?
Attendant: Eh, what country do you think this is ?
Ferris: I want you to take extra special care of this vehicle.
    Attendant: Relax... I'm a professional
    Camerion: Professional what.

    Ah, class stuff.

(since we're all getting in on this correcting lark)
"He can't hit, he can't hit, he can't hit, swing, batter".

Also - some subtitles do list this line as "Kennedy..".
