I've just subscribed to the Mac forum... going mad in me old age, I guess... ;)

Okay... can anyone recommend a (good) IRC program for the Mac (OS X 10.2) ? The closer it is to mIRC in Windows the better, to be honest :)

I use Ircle (www.ircle.com) It's not particularily close to mIRC (it doesn't use tabs for different chat windows) but it's very good. :)

Yes and Yes. If you're a unixy geek like me, you'll want Fink (fink.sourceforge.net) which will do your package management nicely. Be sure you have 10.2 and the Apple developer tools installed.

You can then use Fink to install the necessary xfree86 packages, and then grab OroborOSX (oroborosx.sf.net) for your window manager. Or you can just go to www.xdarwin.org and ignore Fink, though I wouldn't as it's a great way to manage the unix apps on your machine.
