Yes you are being negative. Be positive! Help Paul Field count down the Top 30 songs of 2002 as voted by you! (aha, a rhyme!)

Dosn't matter is it was a single, album track, EP or demo so long as it was released during 2002.

To vote simply go to http://www.phantomfm.com/thisweek/paulfield.htm and vote for your three favourite songs in order of preference. If you haven't done it yet do it today!

Paul counts down the Fields Festive 30 on Saturday, Dec 21.

Taking in the truely dire manufactured pop Blue, Westlife, Ronan Keating etc and the god awful dance songs Scooter , Elvis vs JXL etc the winner is garreth young and will gates and all their awful covers.

The other main offenders are :-
    - Melaton something with stars in the title {cant remember the actual name of the e.p}
    - U2 electrical storm
    - Quincy cant remember the songs name
    - Primal Scream Mrs Lucifer
    - Blotooth Give up your day job
    - Sum 41 Motivation
    - Robbie Williams Feel

But the worst song of the year goes to
Cant remember the bands name {I'm sure Mr Pope will help me out when hes next on} but the song is called "What i go to school for" and its F.U.C.K.I.N.G. dire

not many i can think of cause we generally don't live with songs we don't like and these days that means only listening to selected radio/tv.
    but jumping in to defend....

i think there's far more unhealthier stuff in the charts than robbie's new one - it's not bad.

U2's one grew on me a bit, but they should call it a day before they become embarassing - (unlike many of you, they haven't lost my respect yet)

blotooth sound pretty decent - great job on that xmas song they covered.

some of the names you mentioned bandit should be added to that stars-list (****, ****, bollox, etc.),
actually we shouldn't be discussing those acts at all,

    Hello All,

Sorry Polarbelly, just had to respect your dignity man :-)

Im absolutely with Brian D on this thread though. I think that for everyone who is allowed to post their worst songs of the year here, they should also have to email Paul Field with their three favourite songs of 2002.

    http://www.phantomfm.com/thisweek/paulfield.htm

    Go for it!

And Ill have to think about songs I really didnt like (excluding all the popstars/las ketchup etc nonsense). Will get back to ye.

    Regards,

    Pete Reed

I think Aaron Carter released some stuff this year....also Las Ketchup, Scooter and Gareth Gates really bugs me.
But I will send in my favourite three.

Anything by ANY product of a reality show competition thingy. ie. Popstars, Pop Idol, Fame Academy, Eric Idle, or 'I'm desperate and will blow you for fame'...

When i turn on the TV i think i can actually, for the first time, feel the end of the world. These well groomed, spikey haired, uber tanned Hitler youths are the only thing that frightens me in this thing they called life.

PS. Don't ever watch a PINK video with Bandit for two reasons. A. he will sing it note for note and word for word B. it will be bags around the ankles in seconds.

I too have done the Phantom top 30 thing, so can I carry on slagging off more of 2002...?

Actually I'm struggling because most of the stuff I've seen and heard has been totally forgetful.

Avril Lavigne..I agree with Polarbelly on that one and the thought of Bandit with his trousers round his ankles is enough to put me off Pink for life.

Plus any new-metal type skater punk dudes singing about "only porn maw" or something else equally profound.

Heard a Charlote Church song on the radio the other day...my god now THAT was bad.
