I want to learn French for some bizarre reason and am looking for free language tuition sites if anyone could point me in the right direction? I can find them myself but it's better if someone with experience shows me the way

I think it's because it's such a sexy language, it's one of the most appealing I've heard.

    try http://french.about.com/

what experience do you have with the language?

you might be better buying some books/PC programs/language tapes to help you learn.

None at all, I'd really love to do this on a tight budget. I'll have a look on the site later when home thanks.

I'm kinda in the same boat as yourself, not really having enough money to get structured tuition I need to organise my own. Getting a book or 2 is always adviseable but I found it extremely difficult to find any that didn't treat you as if you were 12 years old. I got my hands on one of the "complete idiots guide" series and was very impressed with it. Even my girlfriend (who is french) was surprised after initial scepticism. It is very well structured and descriptive without being condescending or overly serious. You would be pleased to know that it cost me less than €20 from Amazon, or if you can find it locally it will be cheaper.
