Capsized cargo ship - struck again

    09:47 Monday December 16th 2002

Shipping officials are open mouthed this morning, as they try to explain how the Tricolor, the vessel that sank in the English Channel at the weekend with a cargo of luxury cars, could be hit again by another cargo ship this morning. The wreck of the Tricolor can still be seen lying on its side after its weekend collision with the Bahamas' registered container ship Kariba. But despite 8-mile visibility, and the benefit of the latest navigational technology and marker buoys, the ship has again been struck by another vessel, the Nicola, en-route from Spain to Rotterdam. The Nicola's crew are all safe, but the vessel will remain stranded until high-tide this morning. Salvage crews are still on standby off the coast of Kent, checking the Tricolor for oil leaks.

That's just unbelieveable - all that space, clear visibility and that new-fangled radar thingie (er, satellite navigation) and they still manage to hit it?
