    Dear IOL Free Customer

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for continuing to use IOL Free. At this time we are changing all our IOL Free dial up numbers to guarantee that you always pay a local call charge and can access the Internet wherever you are in the country, ensuring you peace of mind every time you dial up. It appears that you are not yet dialling the new number.

Your new dial up number is 1890 924 042.

It is imperative that you change your dial up number as quickly as possibly. If you are using Microsoft Windows™ please click here to download a dialler with the new number in about 1 minute. If you are using an alternate operating system or would like instructions on changing you dial up number you can find them here.

When you change your dial up number you will be automatically entered into a free draw*. You will be in to win 1 of 2 fabulous Nokia Picture Phones, click here for competition terms and conditions.

Merry Christmas from all at Esat BT and IOL Free!

Did nay Netsmart users get a website popping up with the above message?

Just make sure you don't change the number - it is only meant for IOL Free customers (not netsmart custs).

Yep, hence why it says "At this time we are changing all our IOL Free dial up numbers".

    :)

You'd be suprised how selective people can be when reading notices like that :) It never hurts to point out the "obvious".

Hasn't this come up here (or Nets/Comms) before?

Isn't the IOLFREE bit in a red font? Haven't seen the page in a while...

It has....that notice has been up at least 2 months, there's been a thread or 2 about it.

Right thanks for the heads up on that!

No, like it says, IOLFree, and you'll never use 1890 numbers for that kind of time bucket service.

    Thanks for that eth0_

    Surely it should read 1892 924 042?

1890 is not designated for internet access.

Calls to this number will not appear as internet access on one's phone bill.

Yet another attempt by the BT/eircom/ComReg group to sweep the appallingly high cost of very slow internet access in Ireland under the carpet?

    R.
