New year resolutions

    Anyone actually going to try and do a resolution or few?

    I am today on a fast as I have overindulged over Christmas and probably for quite a while. I think I will try and get more exercise and less toxic entities into my system. I won't make it a resolution as I will undoubtedly not stick to the resolution. I will just try a little harder.

    Giving up giving things up.

    Pain in the arse really only fooling yourself into thinking you are capable of giving up your vices when you are weak and in a week or 2 you will have forgetten about them and gone back to whatever you were giving up.

    Its the people who succeed that scare me.

    I second neo's resolution.
    and not to give up kick boxing/weight training although its taking up 4 days a week and killing the social life I worked so hard for.

    I have lots and I'll honour many.

    Lose some weight and get fitter. I lost 2 stone in 2 months last year. Put back a stone and a half recently. 3 Month Timeframe

    Improve tech skills so I can move jobs. Improve my xml, php and db skillz and get some certs like ccna and mcses. 6 month timeframe

    Get my full driving licence. 6 month timeframe.

    Start and finish some website projects. One or two new websites on the way that should prove useful for people and open some minds on the way too. 1-6 month timeframe.

    Find Love.

    Keep momentum going in Projects like CorkWan. 1 month timeframe.

    They're but a few.

    Yes less net for me too( and more b52's :D ) and try to bump into carmel, more often when I decide to walk home pished in the rain...(carmel was very nice and gave me a lift home tonight :) )
    no need really for working out and losing weight as my job does that for me-me job makes me a very phyizzcal kind of fellow:p

    Instead of giving up anything, this year i'll be mostly wearin' g-strings...i mean, this year, im going to start doing more things...

    Eat more fruit
    Do more exercise
    Study harder/longer
    Practice harder/long (guitar)
    Use free time

    oh, and after spending the countdown to the New Years wasted in a toilet at the local (10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1..barf!) ... consuming alcohol won't be the regular accurance that it once was, in this New Year.

    Trying to give up cigarettes or drink is a lesson in futility right now for me - especially as a New Year's resolution. If I do decide to give either up at some stage, it'll be quietly, privately and unannounced.

    However - I AM going to read more, write more, travel more and (hopefully) improve my Irish and other language skills.

    Spend more time reading books about useful stuff like mysql and c++ instead of arsing around here all the time :)

    Lose a few kilos (a recurring theme this year it seems)

    Get my full bike licence.

    Stop ordering chinese when there's a spar 5 minutes down the road.

    Get some biking boots.
