Making a Folder the A: Drive ?????

Is there any way i can let windows think that a folder is the A: drive. The reason for doing this is that the connection for the floppy on my mother board is fecked, and i need a few programs that will only extract to the floppy drive, the main one i'm interested in is for formatting my seagate hd.

Or perhaps i could change the letter of my external usb zip drive to make it think thats the a: drive. Any helpful suggestions are appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Alo.

    for win2k

1)disable the floppy controller from the hardware manager
    2)use subst

Syntax (for want of a better word) will be

    e.g.

    subst a: c:\adrive

(someone please correct me if I have it arseways)

Can be entered at a command prompt or added to autoexec if you want it all the time

If you just enter it at a command prompt, repeating the command with a /D at the end will dump it.

You will have to disable the drive, as Ruaidhri mentioned - it won't work if you already have a drive with the letter you want.
