bah just found the bad side of it
It is an ordering service for downloading files such as MP3's, video and large data packages, which is ideal for SatDrive (TM) users who do not need realtime delivery.

You only need an internet connection to activate this service and a valid SatDrive (TM) SkyEmail account (see SatDrive (TM) Email). After activation the SatDrive (TM) RFD software automatically downloads the requested files using the free space on the satellite as it becomes available. The length of time to receive the requested data can vary between a couple of minutes to a few hours depending on the size of files and number required.

You receive your file requests as an off-line SkyEmail attachment without any additional cost to your monthly rental fee.bad bit hear There is a monthly limit of 60MB with 10 files per request and no more than 30 requests per day.

SatDrive (TM) RFD supports FTP and HTTP services and all file attachments will be encrypted for additional security

That bad side is only on their 'ordering service'. The bad side is the cost of setting it up imho.
I beleive you can download as much as you want for no extra charge on the £15/month, but you dont have a guarantee for performance; i.e. you get whats left over from the people paying more. ;) Several people on the ispreview and netsystemusers forums have got it and claim that its certainly faster than netsystem, though the speed changes a good bit from peak to off peak times.

hee hee, yeah there sure are a lot of unhappy people on the netsystemusers board :D . Their gripe though, is to do with the way netsystem performs with p2p apps, as far as I'm aware. I have to say netsystem is great, I regularly (90% of the time) get downloads of 40KBps, it certainly never drops below 20KBps, and when I want to use a p2p app I just use http-tunnel which gives me about 10-14KBps and 24KBps+ when I use the high bandwith server, so I'd recomend netsystem no worries.

I have to disagree with you there :D

The chances of getting good satisfaction with it is like lotto odds or you are very lucky:D

I was on netsystem trial during the month of october, I rarely got past 10kbps download speed over http, worse still on any p2p app(regular 1-2kbps).
It was a constant nightmare being on it, lots of users complained.
Problem was with netsystem end not mine as i got decent transfer speed over another sat isp.

Has it got better since? I doubt it unless they have got an additional transponder. If i remember correctly, there were 80,000 users in Italy plus everyone else sharing a 45MB transponder !

:D:confused: Hmmm, that IS a pickle.

I've been using it since September and have had maybe two bad days on it, like I said it is bad with p2p stuff but like I also said if you use it in conjunction with http-tunnel it's fine, on the free server I was getting 10-14KBs, and on the pay server which I just decided to try out for one month at a cost of $4.99 I am getting now (as i type) 3 files off kazaalite totalling 45KBps. I must be one of the lucky ones !!! ;)

When I used it from May - August, it gradually got worse, to a point where you'd be lucky to get 20KB/sec on multithreaded HTTP. Friends I know that are using it say its got even worse lately.
