Question about DAC / Split lines

From what I have read, it is now illegal to install split lines since last April. I have a friend who is on a split line and at most only ever gets 28K, usually 22 - 23K (4 - 5 km from the excahnge, I think). If he requests a new Line from Eircom, do they "Have" to give him his own private line? Or will they just give him…

theres been a few threads on this.
I think Eircom agreed to not do it anymore. Not sure if they have to remove them tho.

On the nets/coms board there is a 'sure' way of getting eircom to remove them

They do have to move them, they are legally obliged to do so, afaik...

I've written up a letter to them asking them to remove it, which I'm sending tomorrow.
