Nero not picking up CD-RW properly

Just five minutes ago my copy of Nero started reporting that my CD-RW drive only has a maximum speed of 16x when it should say 24x. I've already burned a number of CDs at that speed with it this evening, but all of a sudden it's changed it's mind. I'm gonna try a few other burning programs and see what they come up with,…

As far as I know Nero reports the speed of the last CDR inserted into the drive so if the last disk was a 16x CDR then Nero won't change that until a faster disc is inserted.
