Any Meshuggah solos are very cool and unexpectedly changable.

    Gotta hand it to em.

I know the last one may be indie I just don't care!!!! Why is everybody going for metal solos here? Some of the best solos ever are by non metal bands!!

    TELEVISION - MARQUEE MOON

mmmmmtastic!!! There's a 15 minute live version floating around the net somewhere, more than half of which is dedicated to guitar (improv) soloing. What's even better?? They've broken out the zimmerframes and played Vicar Street twice in the last 2/3 years.

happydude13, you make me happydude14!! That song (Emassy Row by Pavement) blossoms at 1:04 to be exact :)

I just can't wait for the summer so I can go on those nice long 8 hour practice binges on guitar.

I remeber goin to see satriani in 2000 in vicar street...that changed the way I look at music and motivated be to ( try to be ) as good at guitar as him.

Flying in a blue dream by satriani- class class solo

TELEVISION - Little Johnny Jewel...18 mins or so. Animal Solo. Marquee Moon is a warmup compared to it.

Yeah, cool solo. I personally prefer Domination but then again just about every solo on that album is class.

Have you tried playing it! It's the hardest thing I've ever tried to play on guitar!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 235 ✭✭domeara01

well as a matter of fact i have. do you use sonique media player.
it allows you to adjust the pitch so it is slowed down enough for you to play it,
you can get it at www.sonique.com
you gotta sign up but it costs nothing.

That means you can't play it! I mean, anything can be played slowly!

I can just barely get that big scale in Sacrament Of Wilderness at the right speed! It's a good one to try out!:)

    i must try that actually.

Wait coming up with different ways of playing solos is guitar wankery?
Ok I take it you dont play guitar, or are shit to think such thoughts.
Morello is a genius when it comes to crazy sounds.
Bit samey on most of his records but different to anyone else.

If you were gonna reserve a phrase like that for some one, try yngwie! :D
