I just bought a Creative Blaster version of this card.

It comes with a rather basic looking fan, not the cool elongated ones.

Now seeing as my system runs pretty cool so far, i`m hoping to clock this card well at least 10% or so.

I`m looking for some help from people who`ve clocked this card already, what to expect etc.

Also some benchmarks and driver versions as well

    My system

    Xp 1800 @ 1660 - FSB: 166
    Samsung pc2700 DDR RAM
    Abit KD7-RAID MOBO(kt400)

I`ve only just got the card, and ran 3dmark at low res - getting over 12000 marks, and running at default setup getting around 9500 marks.

Which isnt too shabby compaired to my old Kyro2(2500)

My whole system so far has been built on a budget, and so should the modding :)

I`ll get my hands on some old Heat Sinks and make Ram Sinks outta them.

Oh some info on thermal glue stuff to stick them on, or can I use glue:rolleyes:

    Cheers ;)

I'll take it that you've overclocked other cards before, but incase u havent:

Only increase the core and ram speeds in bits of about 5Mhz at a time, just incase u do it too high and cause some damages.

I had an old GF3 Ti300 and i o/c'd it too high and the performance dropped signifigantly.

I have a Ti4200 but I couldnt be bothered overclocking it.
    nice card

Cheers doddee, yeah i know how to oc it, just a little at a time, but i`d say it can go as far as 30%.

I`m more curious as to sticking on ram sinks, with stuff that can be made/or bought over counter sorta DIY(cause im like that:))

    Also driver versions as well.

    I have a t bird 1,33 getting 3900 in sys mark 2001 SE build 330, with a 32 meg gf2 gts. I am hoping for about 8000 with a ti 4200. Am i begin un realistic?
Any one have a similar setup to the one i have and have any intresting 3fd mark scores?

I had a p4 1.4 with the same card you had and was getting around the 4500 mark

Spooky, Is your tbird OC`ed at all

3dmark loves a big FSB, mine being 166 prolly helped.

I normally just use q3 or bf1942 to jusge the cards ability.

    I have a p3 800 with a geforce2 32mb GTS and am getting 4000 3d marks. Not bad.

I also have 384megs of ram so that can't hurt.

Having more than 256 MB RAM won't make a difference in 3DMark.

BazH, If you can't get hold of old ramsinks you might have lying around, I think Maplin have some little kits you could use.

No its an amd chip and not intel! When i over clocked the video card i got 4333 any higher and it just wasent stable!

For putting on those ramsinks BazH you can put glue in the corners and thermal grease in the middle of the chip, or you could just buy some thermal exopy but i don't know where you would get that in Ireland.

    Axia 1ghz at 1ghz (133/100) + GF2Ti450 (451/250) = 3768
    Axia 1ghz at 1.4ghz (140x10) + GF2Ti450 (451/250) = 4432
    Axia 1ghz at 1.4ghz (140x10) + GF2Ti450 (481/275) = 4577
    Axia 1ghz at 1ghz (133/100) + GF4Ti4200 (default) = 6578
    Axia 1ghz at 1.3ghz (133x10) + GF4Ti4200 (default) = 7452
    Axia 1ghz at 1.4ghz (140x10) + GF4Ti4200 (default) = 7696

Yeah man i read that before thanks ! Thats about what id expect anyway for the gforce cards and the axia core amd chips!

Im running the card at stock(250/513), and getting around the 9500 using default settings in 3dmark.

    The CPU(amd 1800+) is running at FSB: 168 now = 1.68ghz

Im using pc2700 ram which is basically keeping me around the FSB 166 mark, ive tested pc3200 and can get over 180 FSB, but this is by no means cool - 50degrees idle

Im happy with the cpu clock so far, and have no intention to push it any further, so im gonna try a little overclock on the card. Not wishing to blow a E150 gfx card, i wanna look into heat disipatation(sp?), so the ram sinks seem the first move.

Where can i get thermal epoxy, is there a kit i can buy including the heat sinks, Ive got an old p2 celeron HSF thingy.

Id rather do it right than use my cheapo compound and superglue.

I have epox which i can give you at DSV.

I managed to get my Creative Ti 4200 to 300/600 stable with out any mods to the card and with that i can get 10k odd with my XP 1900 oc'd to 2100 speeds at 150Mhz fsb.

I'll be getitng my watercooling kit next week \o/ and will overclock it a good bit more.

I used some p1 h/s on my GF3 and got a good oc on the ram but got a better one with the proper ram sinks from thermal take.

Need to either watercool my ti4200 ram or need to get sinks for it cause it runs very hot atm.

I used to oc the ****e outta my GF3 and the preformance never dropped. I managed to get 8245 on my GF3 which isnt too bad.

well, my k7s5a, 512mb pc2100, xp1800 and gainward ti4200 @ defaults 250/450 I get around 9400 odd and if I oc it a little bit (g.s model 128mb 650xp) and raise my fsb to 142 giving me 1640mhz I get this which doesn't seem to bad at all...

    card running at 300/545
