Might get Barca at a bad time. Hopefully Athletic Club will do the business against Sociedad though.

It'll be difficult, i can see Sociedad lasting the distance.

Well, 3-0 wasn't bad and made up in some way for getting knocked out of the Cup.

If we can continue to play as we did in the first half we should get into Europe.

But even that won't make any difference if we haven't got enough money to keep 'El Nino'

And for any of you dazzled by the stars lining up for our city neighbours then just have a listen to and compare the crowd in the stadiums.

Next week away to Sevilla but without 3 big players.

Sevilla will be tough, I see a home win there.

Barcelona-Athletic will be the big one next weekend, Sunday night TV. Can't wait. Fresh from beating Sociedad, Athletic will hopefully repeat last seasons performance in the Nou Camp.

Yes we're missing 3 first team players including Fernando Torres.

    more news later

Well 'Mono' Burgos was the hero and the villian last weekend and we were lucky in the end to get a point.

    Sunday home to Mallorca

After a hard worked home win against Mallorca it's off to Huelva in the hope of three away points to bring us a little closer to the UEFA places.

Bad 3-0 defeat, very bad all round.

Partly made up for by the return to form of Real Sociedad who with their 2-0 win kept the cross city ballet dancers off the top of the table. Lets hope they can keep it up . Valencia are back breathing down their necks as well.

Also good to see ex-Atleti boss Radomir Antic making a difference at Barna.

Aren't Recreativo Huelva bottom of La Liga? Jesus Gil must be blowing a gasket after that one :)

    La Liga is quite congested.
Back to back wins for Barce saw them jump from 16th to 8th. Now they're only 2 points behind Athletico, and I think they are going to qualify for the CL, only 12 points off Deportivo.
4-0 against Betis was a great result.
    Sorry to hijack the thread.

4-0 at home to Betis wasn't THAT good a result, the Betis defending was appalling, and Barca should have scored more.

Betis were disgracefully handed a victory at home to Sociedad as part of the anti-Basque agenda of the Spanish. Sociedad winning the league would be a nightmare, get ready for some more bogey decisions to go against them, especially in away games.

Great to see Athletic gaining ground though, hopefully a UEFA Cup place won't be beyond them this time round.

Well we have that UEFA place for the moment and with a win against Celta Vigo at home next week we can consolidate it. All of Luis Aragones's teams have a much bettewr second half of the season than their first and he took Mallorca to a Champions League place a couple of years ago. A bit ambitious looking at this stage for Atleti though.

Good news to see 'Mono' Burgos off the operating theatre and out of a cancer scare. Should be back in time to face the white shirted ghosts at the end of the season.

Let's hope Milan send them packing from the Champions League this week.

Big UEFA clash tomorrow against Celta Vigo. A home win would consolidate our chances of having something to celebrate this centenary year.

Everything in place for April 26th.

A very bad defeat last Sunday. We deserved better but the three points would have meant only five between us and Valencia.

Back to the drawing board next Saturday for the other local derby against Rayo Vallecano. Sky Sports 20.30

Vallecano will really fancy this one, with their relegation troubles a local derby win is just the tonic.

Disappointing results of late due to bad finishing has meant we are out of a UEFA Cup place, and considering that Valencia have also been slipping up badly there really is a Champions League place up for grabs with Real Sociedad, Deport and UnRoyal Madrid.

Man U the ball is in your court.

Keano show them who is really world class.

    UnRoyal Madrid.
