    Royal Rumble Results

Last nights PPV kicked of a new year, but began the end of the wrestling year. The Road to Wrestle Mania began, and like last year the out come was predictable. It is very obvious that all the stories are drawing to a close, and we just have to wait until No Way Out to get a better idea of what the final WM19 card will be. Emotions were running high on one of the most important PPVs of the year.

    Openning Match:
    Brock Lesner V Big Show
Winner gets the number 29 entry spot in the Rumble

The First Match got the crowd fired up in a fast passed brawl. It started with Lesner being agravated by the Show as he was pushed around the ring, corner to corner Big Show began to dominate Lesner with chops and slaps. The pase picked up as Lesner got the show with a belly to belly over head suplex. And just before the crowd can Scream HOLY SH1T, Lesner did it again... and again... and yet again... Show responded with various Slams and throws at one stage very impressivly lifting Lesner over the top rope with ease and dumping him on the ring apron head first. Could this be a sign of things to come later in the Rumble match? Lesner attempted to lift up Show for an F5 but Heyman interfered. As he stood on the apron and distrated the referee, Lesner pulled his former agemt in to the ring and attemptyed to F5 him all the way to hell. Show scored a massive choke slam. He cover lesner for the 1...2... but no 3. Lesner kicked out just in the nick of time. Heyman tried a distraction once More but Lesner knocked the 500 pounder in to his agent, and picked him up for an F5, he finally scores it and Gets the fall. Lesner is entered into the Royal Rumble Match at number 29.

    World Tag Team Championship Match
The Dudley Boys V Lance Storm and William Regal

This match was very middle of the road, the Dudleys had the momentum going for most of the match. It anoys me to see Lance storms tallent going to waste like it is at the moment. The match began with various fats tags and simple team work. Buh Buh Ray got the pase going little faster, but once again, Storms lack of WWE style wrestling, ie: entertainment, make the match very boring. Eventually Regal went for his brass nuckles but D-Von blocked it and took the knuckles and knocked out Storm for the Dudleys 16th World tag Title Championship.

    Step-daughter V Step-Mother Match
    Torrie Wilson V Dawn Marie

To say the end of this match was the best part, is a lie. As Torrie, the victor left the ring, dawn shouted after her "This isnt over". Much to my dismay... The match isnt even bother talking about, between head collisions, messy arm bars and stupid screaming and that crappy lesbian sugestive hair pulling crap. You do the Math...

    Worlds Worst Match Ever...
    World Heavy Weight Title
    HHH V Scott Steiner

To say this match was bad, is the greatest under statement of all time. 3 count it, 3 FU*CKING wrestling moves. Thats the extent of Steiners skills. HHH spent the whole match avoiding Steiner, it was the worst peice of SH1T ive ever seen. Actualluy Im getting mad thinking about it, sorry but if you want the review, go to WWE.com HHH caused a DQ, OH MY GOD, it was just sooo bad...

    WWE Title
    Kurt Angle V Chris Benoit

This was by far the best match of the night. Angle and Benoit had one of their all time classics, Between a billion german suplex reversals, and a billion other suplexs, some of which i think were invented last night, Benoit took to the top rope many times... The latter part of the match was suplex after suplex, then counter after counter of the crippler and Ankle lock. Finally after desperation Angle locks an amazing Ankle lock on Benoit for about 2 minutes, Benoits every counter fails as Angle is still holding on tight to the ankle. Finally Benoit taps out. Angle deserved to win the match, as he left in celebration with Team Angle Benoit stayed in the ring as he recieved a standing ovation from the 15000+. He left with a look of disapointment on his face, but we all know, they will meet in the ring again.

    The Royal Rumble Match
    15 Raw Superstars
    15 Smackdown Superstars
The winner meets their respective champion at Wrestle Mania 19 in the Main Event

As we all knew, Shawn Michaels and Y2J entered the ring no1 and 2. As soon as Y2J's music hit the titon tron, the crowd erupted only to be surprised to see Christian downing Y2Js shuga' britches. Y2J sneeks up from behind and catches Michaels off guard, and at one stage leaving the ring to grab a steal chair, which opens up Michaels fore head. Chris Nowinski is 3rd into the Rumble. He agrees to let Jericho hangle Micahels for a little for a bit longer. Michaels is the first out, his eye covered in blood and totally legless, he is thrown over by Y2J. 4th into the fray was Rey Mysterio Jr. He pulled off some very impressive high risk, and at many points looked like he was out. Edge followed as the 5th entry. Rey and Edge didnt uphold their friend ship tonight, as they duked it out. Christian was 6th, but his momentum dropped as he attempted to hug Edge, and turn on Rey, this didnt last long as edge speared his brother. Chavo Gurrerrio entered 7th, and pulled off some excellent snappy Cruiser weight moves with Rey. Rey over came his long time rival and in the process, elimintaed Nowinski. Y2J then seized the oppertunity and elminated Rey. Tagiri's music hit the tron as he entered 8th. Bill DeMontee followed Ninth and Tommy dreamer equipt with a trash can full of gooddies entered 10th. Edge knocked DeMonte over the top with one of Dreamers Kendo Sticks, and Y2j and Christian after a trash can lid conchairto, dumped Dreamer, and his trash can(no pun intended) over the top. Jericho then got rid of Tagiri, as B2 entered 11th. B2 was not in for long as edge threw him over the top. Chavo followed as Edge built up his momentum. But as he and his Brother Christain fewded, Jericho once again took care of the situation, and elminated Edge and Christian.Rob Van Dam ran to ring side number 12, followed by a heft dose of Mattitude, lucky number 13. Eddie "Mullet-less" Gureeeio entered at 14 and Jeff Hardy at 15. Jeff and Matt could not get their hands off each other, they constantly tried to eliminate each other. Rosey was in at 16, and test at 17. The ring was getting very cluttered as John Cena arrived at 18. Team Angle menmber Charlie Hoss entered at 19, as Rvd Eliminated Jeff as he went for a Whisper in the wind. Rikishi was no 20, followd by Jamal, Kane was 22, who eliminated Rosey, on one of his usual Royal Rumble dominance sprees. Shelton Bengerman entered 23 followed by a fats and furious Booker T who eliminated Eddie Guerrerio as soon as he set foot in the ring. A-Train arrived in at 25. To every ones surprise, Shawn Michaels returned to the ring, he bet on Y2j (who at this tage had sopent almost one blood drenched hour in the Rumble) Test took advantage and eliminated the weak Jericho. Maven came in at 26 and goldust at 27, but was instantly eliminated by Charlie Hoss. Team angle didnt stop there. They threw Booker over the top also. Batista came in at 28 and instantly eliminated Test and rikishi. Brock secured his 29th spot as his music blared over the arena. The ring was slowly emptying, as Team Angle were launched over the top rope, and Matt Hardy F5ed on top of them. Takers music hit as the last enterant to the rumble made his return. (And no, not as the Deadman, just the American Bad ass)He eliminated Cena, Jamaland Maven after Maven tried a repeat of last years royal rumble. Kane and RVD teamed up for a short time to eliminate A-Train, but Kane turned on RVD and body pressed him over the top. Taker then eliminated Batista and His Brother Kane, as soon as taker had turned his back, Brock threw him over the top, as Lesner looked around and saw no one he fell to the ground with joy, as the had secured him self a place at WM19. Taker re-entered the ring, and shook his rivals hand, and signaled the wanted the first title shot after WM19. As the PPV went off the air, Lesner rejoiced as his WM debut will be the amin event...

    Hanza ;)

I thought it was a very good show.... I stayed up to watch it as I knew NTL would pull the same stunt they did on last months PPV by automatically switcihing the channel just in case anyone was taping it...

Unfortunetly the only way my young brothers get to see it is if i tape it...

Sure enough half way through the Steiner/HHH match they did the auto channel change.

Dont mind as it was during a bad match...Think it sets up a rematch for no way out? or i almost even reckon a triple threat match at wrestlmania with possible even stone cold? triple threat match woul mean steiner wouldnt have to do much as he can be laid out for half the time.

The rumble itself wasnt much to write home about...did ye notice that the time between the wrestlers entering the riing varied? They should have kept to the same format of 2 minutes.
Why do they have to ruin these monthly events? I mean for example the Survivor Series used to be great with the elimination tag team matches...alas no more.

We all knew Lesner was going to win it.Should be a good main for WMania against Kurt Angle...speaking of who...it was nice to see him win it without the hint of any outside interference. Nice of WWE to do that for a heel win.

I thought the rumble itself was excellent, alot of high flying etc with top performances and a nice packed ring most of the time, cant see why you found the rumble so dissapointing. The format im sure was 2 minutes apart each wrestler. Didnt see any difference to other years.

HHH v Steiner was the biggest load of ****e i have ever seen. sorry it was the second. the Dawn Marie v Torrie Wilson match was pure rubbish. i nearly cried when Dawn Marie said it wasn't over.

Angle v Benoit was the highlight for me. it was magnificent stuff

the Rumble itself was ok, not a whole lot to write home about but did ye see the size of the lump on Jerichos forehead after Tommy Dreamers slap with the Kendo stick :p

Agreed the Steiner, Trips match blew, and the WWE championship match was the highlight, but that shot to Jericho with the Kendo stick was obviously a mistake, but damn it looked good. :D:D

steiner v hhh was indeed one of the all time worst ppv main events in wwf/wwe history - i couldnt believe that the live audience took that **** and never did more that a few boos - pity it wasnt msg

the sd main event saved the show as the all other matches (excepth the rumble) were at best passable(lesner v show) and at worst abysmal(women - as if you wouldnt have guessed and hhh v lesner)

the ruble itself was, for the first half an hour superb - the best booked in rumble action ever but half way through it lost its way

y2j was the rumbles mvp by far - his best performance since no mercy 2001 but because jericho was tken out too soon, the match lost its most important stread, while we all knew lesner would take the match, y2j on paper alone needed and shouldve been in it till the final entry arrived and on his performance, a mid match decision shouldve been made to leave hbks run in until later in the match - it wouldnt have been the first mid match booking decision to be made in the wwe by a long shot and the match was crying out for him - cant believe im going on a y2j promo here considering all the criticism that ive thrown at him tin the past 15 months but youve got to give the man his dues on this one - still y2j v hbk at no way out shouldnt be too bad
