The winners are usually very lame sites indeed

    now bazh, be nice.

if the sites that win are lame could you post an example or two?

I am sure there are a lot of people who post their sites here for guidance/ review that would be interested in entering this competition.

Not wishing to disparage the judges, but the judging processes leave a lot to be desired - they would make the IEDR look good in terms of transparency :):)

I don't know but I'm thinking its actual content over design which is always a good thing imo

while content is king on most websites, in this case the competition is advertised as a web design competition.

    go figure...

TO BE HONEST NOW , MY OPINION : -

Ive seen this program on tv and all the entries were not really impresive at all . The winning websites were really tacky , Now maybe the content was great but representation is also important , you cant have 6 inch buttons .

Id make them websites within a few hours which would look much better , i am not showing off or anything but i dont know why good irish web designmers out there enter this comp . I worked for a record companys website when i was in 6th year .

    My recent website it http://bionic4ever.tripod.com
Ive closed it for personal reasons , but you can check out the layout , i used a flash program so i dont think i can enter the competition Plus i dont think its anything to do with College or nething . I could do better but i was just testing out some trasnperency effects .

My favourite is the valuations LOL :)

The prizes last year were actually really, really good. I remember the top third level prize being something like 3 grand cash in the hand.

No offence to the organisers, but that is just a woeful attempt at prizes this year. I guess they couldn't find a good sponsor this year. I think NTL sponsored them last year.
