Anyone tried this (or the demo)? If you liked MOO 2, or any other space type 4x game, this is heaven smile.gif

It is however, a lot more complicated than anything else in the field and the docs suck, the tutorial is ok but not brilliant, so be prepared to spend a bit of time fiddling with it - once you have it sorted it's fabulous.

Good fun in multiplayer, can play by email or simultaneous (much tougher to arrange) - the AI is also pretty good and will give you a bloody good game, especially the first few times out where you will be somewhat overwhelmed by the sheer depth of this thing smile.gif

Best thing imo is that you are kept on your toes the entire game, unlike MOO etc. where once you build up a noticeable lead the game gets tedious fast - there's always something new to throw you off course here. Plus it has some ridiculous amount of research levels like 215 in each of 18 fields or something - the higher level weapons are hilarious smile.gif

http://www.shrapnelgames.com/SEIV_Demo.htm if you want to snag the demo, 18 megs, 100 turn limit on one game. It's only available online from the publishers, 40$ plus 18$ or so postage (to Ireland anyway).

Anyone who gets it and likes it drop me a bell for multiplayer mayhem smile.gif
