I'd agree that the first episode of Angel was impressive and augers well for the season. But I believe that the Buffy episode surpasses it. On the surface we had your typical monster of the episode but overlying that was the complexity of the Buffy/Spike interaction. The scences in the church at the end, combined with the atmospheric lighting made it an episode I rate highly, IMHO .

I have seen the first seven epps of Angel and it does get really good! I have only seen the first 2 buffy so i cant compare. But Angel really rocks!
