i have an athlon xp 2200and i have a GlacialTech igloo 2320 pro
fan with heat sink. The noise is level is 35 dBA.

There is and always was an loud humming coming from my pc.
Buts now makin me crazy. it just to loud. i was woundering
what dB level would have very little humming and would a low dB
    fan run a 2200xp cpu?

Also could it be the fan in the psu (psu is 300w). Does anyone else, with an athlon, have the same problem?

The CoolerMaster HHC-L61 is very quiet and can be bought at itdirect.ie. The best cooler I've ever had.

Yes because the Bel system of sound (10 db=B) is a log scale so 2 db is ten times louder then 1db afaik.

Also Dba is adjusted for noises that the human ear picks up moust i.e 2000-4000 Hz.
