Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Last time it happened the error was due to MySQL being down for a backup.

It's comforting to know that fixing a problem by making the MySQL server think it doesn't exist works ;)

    The internet is FnCKED.

Some clever clogs released an SQL worm and it screwed about half the net with traffic.

To give you an example, one of Spin's boxes got the equivalent of *400* Boards.ie's daily traffic yesterday.

    DeV.

ps: anyone with UTV may be having problems as Nevada seems to have a serious problem with the traffic...
Cant imagine why p45 might be slow but it always seems slow from my Eircom DSL connect... *shrug*...

Our network has been fending off 100's of Mbps of scans and worm related traffic for the last 24 hours, things are starting to get back under control and, thanks to a redundant and high-capacity network, the actual effect was minimized.

The carriers are getting things under control atm, and people are patching up effected systems, so it should be business as usual by Monday :)

Yeah actually Boards.ie itself was reasonably unaffected by it, but you're mileage may vary because your ISP is almost certainly getting whacked too....
