Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    The ports are blocked where you are.
    Had the same problem messing with jpirc on a firewall at home.

    well i am in my college and there is a kickass firewasll on it. nobody is allowed to do anyhting that is fun on the computers anymore. thats probably why it did not work.

    I always get:

    Unable to connect. Connection refused.

    I not too clever so I don't know if this is a work firewall or if I'm just doing something wrong.

    I'd be nice to have it tbh.

    what is "the chat" ? I assume you mean IRC ?

    No ports aren't blocked. I've have turned off fire wall to check this and still no joy.

    http://www.mirc.com and install it and try to connect to
    irc.barrysworld.com (or any quakenet server)

    If you can then we have a problem. If you cant then you have a blocked port or a java sockets problem.

    Right can get on now using mIRC but not from boards.ie drop down menu.
