If someone close to me did top themselves it doesn't change the fact that it is the most selfish, cowardice thing they could do. And if someone close to me killed themselves accidentally trying to impress some chick in a chat room by ODing on something I will put my hands up and say that that is a supid thing to do to the extent that the world is better off that he didn't have kids to carry on the trail of stupidity he laid

its a pity this lad died but all you little gomps coming on saying the world is a better place should really consider pulling your heads out of your arses.

We are alot better without him and if you think otherwise you are the one with his head up his ass. You got toput things into perspective man.

Was at a LAN leechin a few months back and saw these two clips in a seperate folder, pulled em across and watched one, it was a video of a young woman sitting bound to a chair facing a camera with a gun to the side of her head, you could tell by the expression on her face she knew she was about to die, it was horrible, then the guy pulls the trigger and literally blows her head open, blood sprays all over the wall behind her, it was seriously shockin, i opened the second and what i gather it is is the soldier clip as all i saw was this guy on the ground with a boot on his head, a knife comes to his throat, at that i just turned it off, i knew what was coming and tbh i dont need to see that ****!

i came across all them Faces of Death videos one night and i downloaded about 30 of them...
saw the one with the guy gettin his neck split.. didnt find it dat disturbing saw the papper bag one was a bit weird after you see the blood pour outta his head saw the little kid gettin hit by a train that was bad too but sh*t if ye wanna look there are thousands worse ....

i really dont see the fascination in watching all those "faces of death" videos personally. Whats entertaining about watching people squal for there lives? losing there lives through physical and mental anguish/pain?

maybe im just not a morbid person but people who can watch that stuff (and even more sick, some people who even enjoy watching it) just disgust me.

Im not saying that you enjoyed it cartman but people out there do, if they didnt then these videos wouldnt exist in the first place.

Do people really get kicks out of watching others go through such pain and suffering?

Though if someone was going on like that,I didnt really know them and I was in the irc room I would think it was a joke or that the person was some sad fool(no disrespect meant)
If I knew them though would have an ambulance there whether I knew if it was a joke or not and it would be there tough luck if it was!

you have to remember though that the "shroomery" irc network was a place for people who took drugs to chat to each other about there experiences. It wasnt your typical gaming irc network or this "a/s/l bollocks" you get on yahoo etc..

which may or may not make the whole ordeal sadder. Im only mentioning this as alot of people seem to think this was your typical yahoo chat where he just threw up a webcam of him taking copious amounts of drugs.

Koopa? have u ever dies from a drug overdose? me thinks no. ive been through the first stages of a drug overdose (before your stomach is pumped) and it was the most pain i have ever been in. i thought taking drugs would make death more 'comfotable' but theres nothing comfortable about it.

Patrick - ur a bit of an idiot to be honest. go learn more about suicide before you start casting them off as 'cowards'. i presume you dont want to die (neither do ppl who kill themselves!) so being forced into it wouldnt be fun, and actually doing it, i think, would take a hell of alot of courage.

the poor boy with the webcam or whatever was obviously desperate for attention. why do ppl always say that suicides are 'just attention seekers' what the hell is wrong with that? obviously they needed quite a lot of attention to end up in the state of mind they were in.

I dont think IRC kid meant to top himself ,but in relation to suicides in general anyone who does it is a coward, whatever your motivation for topping yourself you still an ingrateful, selfish little bastard if you do kill yourself.
Everyone has someone who cares about them regardless of what your twisted little mind thinks and to deprive them of you because you feel sad is wrong. And to solve your problems by death is stupidity and cowardice noone says life is easy but you get on with it and enjoy what you can.
I know a few people who killed themselves one allowed and meant for his 6 year old daughter to find him hanging in his room , thats sick.
Another on the morning of his exam results before he got them he killed himself and left a note blaiming his parents for too much pressure, another sick **** i cant see how his parents ever got over that.
And the last guy i know threw himself under a car because he was fighting with his girlfreind but he felt she should be beside him when he did it.

Anyone who kills themself or tries is a fekkin muppet.

For some reason i wanted to see that chechnyan video, i was curious for some reason i watched with warnings form Merc Tilt and i as a grown man felt scared and had nightmares about it for 2 weeks.
Im only getting over it now i thought i could watch it easy maybe im not as desensitised as everyone here.

silent grape, it depends what drug i suppose.. to answer your question ive been almost dead in hospital before (it wasnt a suicide or "drugs" but i later did remember things like what would have probably been my last instincts, etc., and concluded dying wasnt any big deal, ive been in more pain when ive had a fever trying to sleep in bed compared to that.. although afterwards i did feel like **** for a while after as my body recovered (i think i spent most of the time sleeping) - thats something dead people dont have to do

as for the people saying "people who suicide are selfish", thats a pretty stupid thing to say.. its their life, they dont have to answer to you for ****

the chechnyan video - i saw it, its nothing special, theres much worse things that can happen to you than getting your throat cut

the thing i really hate is the way mainstream film 'deaths' are practically nothing like the real thing, they are basically creating a generation of people who are ignorant of this kind of thing completely, for example if a man falls out of a 20th floor window, he wont just lie on the pavement in a heap, itll be quite obvious he's dead, etc. (if they dont want to show the view, thats fine, but at least they dont have to show it wrong, its practically misinformation)

and no im not obsessed with death in any way, its just a reaction to the "protectionist" society i live in (im trying to make it less "protectionist")

I just read this thread after finding it on google and even though I heard about this kid at the time, it still ****ed me up.

But I read the logs and IRC log and I think you're demonising the other people in there too much. Mose of you seemd to be seeing them as a group of people all acting the same way, but you can't do that because they're not all the same entity they're dseparate people and each was reacting differently to him.

The guy that kept shouting RIPPER IS A GANGSTA, in particular, is a complete moron. He wasn't the only one either. But not all were that bad - in particular "grphish" and "hast" were concered to say the least.

But, yea, it's ****ed up. ****ed up cause I've been there done that - I don't mean I've ODd but I've seen all sorts of videos like that and read all sorts of screwed up stories, and they've had little affect on me - but this one has.

It has because the others were pretty obviously fake, or they were videos from 20+ years ago about some foreign people dying but this one wasn't.

This is real. It was a western kid, just a few years older than me, and reading the stuff on brandonvegas.com he wasn't entirely different to me or probably a lot of you, before he fell into drugs.

I don't know if the brandonvegas.com site is really by his brother and family, but even if it isn't it's still a fine tribute to the guy. Before I read it I was close to agreeing with the ones of you wqho said that people who commit suicide are selfish etc, but I know that Brandom wasn't like that.

It was a big fked up mess, what happened that night.

And if any of you were wondering, I didn't find this by googling for online suicides, drug taking, morbid videos or anything like that. Believe it or not this thread is the top result when searching for "whats that movie with loads of ninjas?" ... yes, I was very bored.

I think (and hope) David was making the unfortunately true point himself that people only really react to tragedy when it occurs to people who they can identify with.

And I think any sympathy directed toward the guy in question is based on the belief that you have to be fairly messed up to take the amount of drugs he did. I suspect his life wasn't all sugar and roses. I doubt he thought it wasn't dangerous, it may have been suicide by recklessness as much as an accident.

If the girl was from russia or some other nation where the police are so underfunded that missing persons etc arent even looked for often and serial killing is common than it might be believeable. But shes American. Dont you think that somebody who knew this girl would have seen that film and contacted the cops? Dont you think the case would attract massive media attention? What a load of wallies:D

Those vids you see from afghanistan,chechnya,iraq,algeria etc are probably real. They are propoganda films for terror groups.

Yes, because we all know that nothing bad ever happens in the states, and no public bodies are corrupt/underfunded.

What I was saying is that Westerners seems to have become desensitised to pain and suffering as long as it's happening to people half way across the world, or happened a long time ago.

There's a new generation about that have all grown up being taught about the holocaust at school, and reading about both World Wars, Vietnam, The Gulf... I'm a part of it and we've heard about it so much it doesn't seem to bother us because as a kid you deal with it by knowing that those sort of awful deaths only happen to other people. People that aren't like you.

Then something like this happens and it bursts your lovely little bubble, and for a small amount of time you realise that **** happens, and it isn't confined to third world countries or times long since passed.

I hate it and I wish I weren't a part of it.
