are you going to be busking with your band?
otherwise, the police probably wont move you
youre able to busk grafton street 24hours, but its really got to do with the shops, if the shops dont like you theyll get the police to ask you to move, generally, at the top end of grafton street (the posher end) the shops will only allow classical/jazz musicians

At least the police here aren't that scary. They're quite proper looking with their pressed trousers and sensible shoes and have authority without looking like they're going to kick the cac outta you.

In Prague, they wear big all-purpose all-terrain army boots and black baggy combats with a baton or two swinging menacingly.

But, have to say, it was nice of them not to take our money. They just came outta nowhere and slammed down the guitar- case lid and gave us the longest, hardest, meeeeanest stare ever. Then said something in Czech that we didn't understand but we did understand really coz y'know they say communication is 70% body language.

So anyway, good luck with it! :)

The police'll move you if you start garnering a crowd that's interfering the flow of shoppers up and down the street.
If you're busking outside usual shopping hours they pretty much never will - assuming of course you're not breaking any other laws...

...ah yea..wouldn't hav the whole band out gettin cold- just two of us head out for a bit. big smiley heads usually keeps us from gettin a lift home in the garda van..was just curious cos I didn't know what the craic is regarding the 'street arrangments' - definitely wouldn't be competing with the classical/jazz musios...Cheers for the insights!
