Just got the new Sea and Cake album and it's a wee cracker so I'll be playing some stuff off that as well as Trade (band from Midleton), Shellac, Simple Kid, Bonnie Prince Billy, Delgados, Jimmy Cake, etc, etc

+ competitions to win cd's, copies of the Document vegan cookbook and history 0f the mid 90's dublin music scene, etc, etc.

    cheers!

To be honest the show's getting a better than expected response so far as I was a bit worried the station would be bombarded with e-mails/texts along the line of 'get that indie **** off the air' but both they and I have had a lot of positive feedback so far, which is gratifying.

Only drawback is i miss seeing the footie on sky on a sunday because of my timeslot but beggers can't be choosers but the way liverpool are playing this seaosn I'm probably better off.

It was good to hear a lot of bands I never heard of before. I rarely listen to the radio anymore so my only real avenue for hearing new talent are friends who recommend stuff.

aye, word of mouth is how most people discover good new music (assuming one's mates have good taste!)

What I'm trying to do with the show is mainly play indie stuff you don't normally hear so I'll be avoiding what I'd called 'obvious' indie (Coldplay, Travis, David Gray, Frames) and playing more left of field stuff (shellac, Low, Sea and Cake, etc), all great bands but underexposed I feel.

Got 2nd half of show. Garlic are good. Josh Rouse is from the bad seeds is it ? That tune was nice. Ah nuts the first tune you played is a personal favourite. Have it here anyway. :)

cheers for the good word, I think the 1st track in the 2nd half of the show was the Giant Sand cover of King of the Road.

Really like Garlic too, nice Pavement-style indie-pop.
