Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Decoding a TV signal with your PC

    Hi,

I am new to these forums, do any of you know if it is possible with a program to decode a signal from NTL?

I am not talking about the channels that your TV can pick up already, I am talking about the i.e. SKY sports channels that are there, where the picture is encoded, but the sound goes through.

If you have a TV card in your PC, I have heard you can get software that can decode the picture as well?

Can anybody verify this is true or better yet tell me where to look for the tools to do so??

Not sure but I imagine they have the same encryption as sky digibox, no?

    *snort* What do you think?*

NTL almost certainly doesn't use the same encryption as Sky-D. It's possible with the Chorus boxes to reprogram the chip (they are E-PROM chips after all), it's presumably possible to do likewise with the NTL boxes.

This one's calling out for a lockin'

*that would be a "no" btw - 'taint legal just because itcan be done without using a TV.
